The Centre Arthur Masson, located in Belgium, is dedicated to presenting the evolution of rural life from the 1930s to the 1960s: to enrich its visitors' experience, it has adopted Sycomore's A-Guide Smart, a device that delivers a synchronised, immersive visit using infrared technology, with commentaries available in five languages.

A tribute to the "Walloon Pagnol"

The centre pays tribute to the Belgian writer Arthur Masson, often nicknamed the "Walloon Pagnol". In his works, Arthur Masson captured the essence of rural life in Wallonia in the 20th century: his stories, full of humour and realism, depict the traditions, customs and transformations of Walloon rural society. The centre uses these stories as the starting point for an immersive walk-through show that transports visitors back to a bygone era when everyone spoke Walloon.

Visitors pass through a series of carefully reconstructed scenes, each illustrating a particular aspect of daily life between the 1930s and 1960s: from schools to markets, houses to farms, each stage is a plunge into local history.

To accompany this unique experience, the centre chose to integrate Sycomore's A-Guide Smart. This device offers a visit fully synchronised with the show: the audio commentaries match the actions and dialogue of the scenes presented perfectly. Thanks to the precision of the infrared synchronisation technology, visitors enjoy the show without worrying about triggering the commentaries, which considerably enhances immersion and engagement.

The site has a fleet of 80 A-Guide Smart devices and 11 infrared units, which ensure the synchronisation of all the scenes along the route. This infrastructure guarantees every visitor a coherent, seamless experience, with no interruptions or lag in the audio commentaries.

Sycomore's infrared technology allows the show's commentaries to be delivered in four languages — French, English, German and Dutch — in addition to the original version in Walloon.
