Mons Tourist Office: Vox VDR Micro tour guide systems for groups
5 July 2024
In November 2023, the Mons Tourist Office launched a call for tenders for the purchase and delivery of tour guide systems and voice amplifiers to improve the welcome of groups on guided tours. In response to this consultation, we proposed our very latest tour guide system, the Vox VDR Micro, meeting the client's quality and performance requirements.
Mons, a city with a rich and varied heritage
Located in Belgium, the capital of the province of Hainaut, Mons is a popular destination for its cultural and historical treasures. Designated European Capital of Culture in 2015, the city has considerably raised its profile and attracted many visitors.
Among its must-see attractions: the Grand-Place and its historic houses, the Town Hall, the belfry listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Mundaneum and the Neolithic flint mines of Spiennes. The Doudou, a popular festival inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list, attracts thousands of participants every year.
From the call for tenders to staff training
The Mons Tourist Office wanted high-quality tour guide systems, with clear delivery conditions and solid guarantees. Despite the Christmas holiday period, all the equipment was delivered before 15 January 2024, demonstrating our responsiveness and our commitment to the client.
After delivery, a general training session was organised for the Tourist Office staff. Users particularly appreciated the ease of use of the devices, their battery life and their range. Feedback was extremely positive, highlighting the quality of the equipment and the responsiveness of our service.
The Vox VDR Micro: cutting-edge technology
The Vox VDR Micro is a latest-generation digital tour guide system, developed and manufactured in the European Union by the Vox group. Its strengths:
- Operation in the new frequency band authorised by the European Union (1.9 GHz), avoiding the interference common with devices using the 2.4 GHz band;
- Constant signal reception up to 200 metres, even in crowded environments;
- 99 channels with automatic synchronisation and locking onto the guide's transmitter, preventing visitors from changing channels by mistake;
- 45-hour battery life, ideal for long days of touring;
- Elegant, ergonomic design, reusable earphones compatible with induction loops, with single-use options for hygiene reasons;
- Robustness and resistance to shocks, heat and humidity.
In addition, we supplied waterproof charging cases, guaranteeing the safety and durability of the equipment, even in demanding environments.
A successful project and a satisfied client
Thanks to our responsiveness and the quality of our products and services, we won the Mons Tourist Office's call for tenders. Since delivery, no complaints have been recorded, and the client has even placed additional orders following their use of the VDR Micro tour guide systems, a testament to their satisfaction. We are proud to contribute to improving guided tours in Mons and remain committed to providing cutting-edge audio solutions to tourism professionals.
