Abbey of Saint-Maurice

The Abbey of Saint-Maurice, the oldest abbey in the Christian West still in operation, welcomes pilgrims and visitors from all over the world.

Aware of the importance of its historical and cultural heritage, the abbey opened its doors to the public, but faced challenges such as the impossibility of setting up educational panels near points of interest, the need to guide visitors through the site and the need to make the history of the site accessible to all, regardless of age and nationality.

To meet these challenges, the abbey set up an audio guide system, the Audiopass, where visitors automatically receive audio guides included in the price of the entrance ticket.

The Audiopass guides visitors to the different points of interest, allowing them to listen to the commentary at their own pace. To make the visit more fun for children, the Audiopen also offers a quiz trail with commentary in the form of anecdotes told by historical figures.

In addition, group tours are led by guides, and thanks to the group tour system, visitors can enjoy the guide’s commentary while moving away from the group to explore the places.
