Cultissime: the video series that creates a dialogue between artworks, museums and the general public

11 March 2025

With the Cultissime series, Culturespaces is reinventing online cultural interpretation: written by Sycomore and presented by Alexandre Bar, this YouTube mini-series makes the emblematic works displayed in Culturespaces' museums and immersive exhibitions accessible, extending the visit experience before or after the trip to the site.

An educational and sensitive bridge

The aim of Cultissime is clear: to offer fun, educational and sensitive access to artworks, drawing on the power of audiovisual storytelling. Each episode, around two to three minutes long, spotlights an emblematic work or object, sometimes famous, sometimes little known. The short, fast-paced, accessible format is suited to mobile viewing and to the general public. The narrative tone, carried by the voice of Alexandre Bar, alternates between historical narrative, artistic anecdotes and sensitive analysis.

A format deployed across several sites and exhibitions

The series spans several cultural environments managed by Culturespaces, with a variety of dedicated playlists:

In total, 38 episodes are in production, around thirty of which are already available on the Cultissime YouTube channel.

Sycomore's expertise in the service of storytelling

Sycomore is responsible for writing the scripts for each episode. This key stage involves research, synthesis and narrative crafting to adapt each work to the short audiovisual format. The team takes care to translate scholarly discourse into clear, lively, captivating language, while respecting historical rigour. Each script incorporates a subtle, effective educational dimension without ever being didactic or academic: it is this ability to combine substantive content with fluid storytelling that gives Cultissime its strength.

Careful, consistent production

The videos are directed by David Coignoux, with a visual world created by Audrey Levi, Mathieu Hue and Olam Productions. The iconography, designed by Livia Lérès and Bérengère Renard, enriches each episode with illustrations, archive material and visual details that plunge viewers into the work.

An interpretation tool that complements the visit

As a digital extension of the physical exhibitions and collections, Cultissime allows visitors to deepen their knowledge after the visit, prepare beforehand to better appreciate the work on site, or simply access part of the heritage from home. It is also a useful tool for teachers, cultural mediators and art lovers.

Whether it is a classic car, a Chagall painting or a remarkable tree in the gardens of the Villa Ephrussi, each subject is an opportunity for a subtle, instructive narrative journey. Cultissime is not just a series: it is a new way of connecting with works of art.
