Collaboration between Sycomore and the Museum of Fine Arts of Draguignan
An Alliance for Cultural Immersion
Located in the heart of the city, the Museum of Fine Arts of Draguignan is an essential place in the cultural landscape of the region. Known for its high-quality temporary exhibitions, it makes a point of honor to promote varied themes and to offer mediation adapted to all audiences.
Its particularity lies in its dynamic approach: rather than exhibiting a permanent collection, it regularly renews its offering by inviting specialists to design immersive and interactive exhibitions.
In order to enrich the visitor experience, the museum called on Sycomore , an expert in the production of audio tours. This collaboration made it possible to bring an immersive dimension to the museum’s temporary exhibitions by creating audio content adapted to each audience.
Together, we have developed four distinct audio tours , each available in two versions: one for adults and one for children. Thanks to captivating staging and an educational approach, these tours enrich the visit and allow a better understanding of the works on display.
Audio Courses Designed For Pous
One of the major challenges in designing audio tours is adapting the content according to the age and expectations of the audience. Sycomore has taken up this challenge by designing immersive and interactive tours, playing on narration and sound staging.
For the exhibition “Lotharingia: Treasures of the Vanished Kingdom” , adults discover a detailed historical journey into the legacy of Charlemagne, with in-depth explanations of the birth and disappearance of Lotharingia.
For their part, children are guided by a clumsy young magician who transforms into different animals thanks to a magic formula. Each transformation is accompanied by a new voice and playful sound effects, making the visit as educational as it is fun.
In “Challenges and Sports: An Encounter Between Antiquity and Today” , the adult version analyzes representations of sport through the ages, from ancient statues to modern practices.

To capture the attention of the youngest, we have imagined a journey in the form of interviews where a sports journalist of today questions ancient athletes. This original dialogue allows to play on the contrast between the eras and to make the discovery more lively.
As for “The Silk Road: A Thousand-Year Epic” , adult visitors immerse themselves in a detailed historical account of the trade and cultural exchanges between East and West, highlighting recent archaeological discoveries. Children, meanwhile, follow the adventures of an old Sogdian sage sharing his adventures with a curious youngster, in an immersive sound setting where we can hear caravans advancing in the desert and the wind blowing between the dunes.
Finally, the exhibition “Gardens and Palaces of the Orient: Between Poetry and Symbolism” highlights the importance of the garden in oriental art. Adults explore the profound meaning of these spaces through excerpts of Persian poetry read in their original version. For children, it is a proud peacock that serves as a guide.
He interacts with the objects on display and shares anecdotes and emotions in a journey in the form of a fun dialogue, immersing them in an enchanting universe.
An Enriched Cultural Experience
Thanks to this collaboration, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Draguignan and Sycomore were able to offer a true sensory immersion to visitors. By offering scripted audio tours, each visit becomes a unique adventure where history comes to life. Visitors, young and old, leave with a deeper understanding of the works and an unforgettable experience.
This approach allows us to capture the attention of young audiences, while offering adults rich and detailed content. This initiative illustrates the importance of new technologies in cultural mediation and paves the way for new immersive experiences for museums.
Conclusion
Thanks to this collaboration, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Draguignan and Sycomore have created unique experiences, transforming each visit into a real journey through time. Interactive audio guides make it possible to adapt the content according to the expectations of the public and to strengthen the transmission of knowledge. Enriching the exhibitions with sound and narration: this is the objective that we have achieved together, to the delight of visitors of all ages.
